✅06:30 – Depart from Porto Take the A1 → A25 (direction Viseu → Seia). Optional quick stop: Viseu (coffee & fuel). Scenic route after Seia as you start climbing the mountain. 09:30 – Arrive in Seia (gateway to Serra da Estrela) Highlights: 🧀 Museu do Queijo da Serra – interactive museum about Portugal’s most famous cheese. 🍰 Try local specialties at Pastelaria Central (excellent travesseiros). Optional short visit to Museu do Brinquedo (Toy Museum) if traveling with family. Stay: ~1 hour


10:30 – Drive up to Torre (the summit, 1,993 m) Route: Seia → Lagoa Comprida → Torre (about 30–40 min). Highlights: 🏞️ Lagoa Comprida – the largest mountain lagoon. 🏔️ Torre – Portugal’s highest point great panoramic views and photo stop. 🧤 Local stalls sell wool products and Serra da Estrela cheese. If weather allows, short walk along the Glacial Valley Viewpoint. Stay: ~1 hour


11:45 – Descend to Manteigas (via the Glacial Valley Road) Drive time: ~30 min This is one of the most scenic roads in Portugal — dramatic glacial valley views. Arrive in Manteigas (~12:15) Highlights: 🏞️ Vale Glaciar do Zêzere viewpoint 🌲 Poço do Inferno waterfall (short detour, 15 min round trip walk) 🍽️ Lunch suggestion: Berne Restaurante or Casa da Ponte – dishes like truta do Zêzere, feijocas à moda da Beira, or cabrito estonado. Stay: ~1h 30min (including lunch)


13:45 – Depart for Belmonte (45 min drive) Arrive ~14:30 Highlights: 🏰 Castelo de Belmonte – medieval castle with views of the Cova da Beira valley. 🕍 Museu Judaico de Belmonte – tells the story of Portugal’s Jewish heritage. 🧀 Small local shops with artisanal cheese and honey. Stay: ~1 hour

Conditions



Day tours
The ticket for a tour entitles the holder to the transportation, entrance fees, services specified in the program and an official guide interpreter. Extras are not included. Children under 4 years of age are carried free (meals to be paid by the adult in charge) between 5 and 10 years of age will pay 50% of the normal price. If the number of participants falls below 7 passengers the tour operator reserves the right to use minibuses or private car.

Private tours
Private tours with guide/drivers (4 and 8 seater vehicles) don't include entrances and guide services inside monuments, meals or other extras. Unless required by clients, these private tours with guide/drivers will not have an official guide interpreter but an official guide driver (explains monuments inside the vehicle and suggests free time for visits). Private tours with guide interpreters (in buses with guide interpreter + driver) don't include entrance fees, meals or other extras but may include guide services inside monuments. According to Portuguese law, guided services inside monuments or on any other tourist attraction can only be provided by official guide interpreters.

Cancellation fees
Day tours and private tours: up to 3 labour days before departure - 25% of total price afterwards no refund is granted. Long and short range tours: up to 7 labour days before departure: 25% of total price afterwards no refund is granted. In the case of No Shows on services or on tours, starting at the airport, harbour, train or bus station, hotel, etc, the total price of the reservation will be charged.

General conditions
Insurance required by Portuguese Law. All tours are subject to alteration without notice. National Monuments close on public holidays and special occasions without notice. Luggage is carried at client's risk, these being advised to watch the loading and unloading of their belongings.

Complaints
These will only be accepted in written once directed to the agency where the reservation and payment were done, within the limit of 15 days after the service has been rendered. In agreement with the EC directive, complaints can only be accepted after details have been communicated to the respective suppliers (hotels, guides, local agents, etc.), during the trip or stay, demanding the respective documents to confirm the incident.
